'Tis the season to feel frightened!
One of our team's favorite movie genres is Horror, so October is practically like Christmas here at Sip Better. Below, we've paired wine to a few of our favorite horror films (though it was agony trying to choose just six!). Now grab your wine, some salty snacks, and settle in with someone who will squeeze your hand during the creepy parts.
Happy Halloween!
What's the '90s greatest contribution to pop culture? The Scream franchise, of course! Besides the teenage eye candy and delicious jump scares, we love that each film in the series gives dedicated space to POPCORN. In fact, if Drew Barrymore's character hadn't gotten that fateful phone call in the very first scene of the very first movie, she'd be kicking back with a perpetual bowl of buttery Jiffy Pop. Our favorite thing to drink with popcorn and a scary movie is this luscious Chardonnay laced with notes of creamy lemon curd, baked apple, and tropical fruits.

Happy Love Month! We've been imagining the perfect, cozy Valentine's Day date that doesn't require a reservation. Here are five ideas we love, plus the wine you'll want to drink with each one. Hugs and kisses!
SPA NIGHT
Well nothing says
spa and
me time better than a luxurious bottle of bubbles! But, we are also allllll about getting the most bang for our buck. Ready?
THIS. Elegance meets a field of wild strawberries—wowza! With just a hint of fresh thyme and a back note of citrus, this pink sparkler is the perfect companion for a soak in the tub.
HOMEMADE PASTA DINNER
We're suckers for a rich gorgonzola pasta (or a simple plate of noodles drizzled in EVOO) and a creamy white. Try
this show stoppin' Sicilian that exudes notes of melon and starfruit. A real stunner!
Going red? Our somm, Leslee, loves Sangiovese. And classically,
this gorgeous Sangiovese from Tuscany is absolutely the key to unlocking the perfect pairing to a tomato-based, slightly herbed pasta.
GAME NIGHT!

Nothing screams summer louder than al fresco dining, and here in Minnesota, the patio vibes are buzzing like live wires! After five months of winter, we take good weather VERY seriously. Now that it’s June, EVERYTHING must happen outdoors! And that means eating and drinking too.
I like a quick seafood situation paired to a little white wine and a setting sun. And lucky for me, two of our Sip Better wine club members, Mark and Tamarind (follow them at @honeysadventures), make a killer sea scallop dish that I plan on whipping up multiple times this summer (recipe below).
The only thing that truly makes this dish better is a glass of Domaine des Homs Viognier, a pretty little white wine from France with a gorgeously round mouthfeel that plays well with the freshness of this meal. And bonus--this wine is under $20! Splash it into a Bordeaux glass and have yourself a very good time outside.

This week we nearly broke the internet with a Thanksgiving dish that a friend of mine created for our segment on a popular local daytime television show I regularly appear on.
Chef Corey Meier, from Create Catering, whipped up an English Muffin stuffing that made our talk show host, Jason Matheson, from The Jason Show 'oooohh + ahhhh' more than any other food segment as we chatted delicious Thanksgiving sides coupled to a variety of wines perfectly paired to the dishes.
Watch the segment, grab the recipe + order up the wines -- just in time for your Thanksgiving feast (see details in the SHOP page for ordering the wines)!
Thanksgiving Dessert Alert! I'm also featuring a delicious Layered Pumpkin Pie in a Jar recipe from my gal pal, Brenda, of A Farmgirl's Dabbles. Because who doesn't need a tasty new way to enjoy pumpkin pie this holiday season? Click HERE for the recipe.
Enjoy your bites + paired Sip Better sips this Thanksgiving!
